Leading Aircraft Design Bureau Burning Down In Moscow: Roof Of Sukhoi Bureau Collapsing

The design bureau was creating ultra-modern aircraft for the Russian army.

A fire has broken out in the building of the Sukhoi Experimental Design Bureau (OKB Sukhoi) in the Russian capital city of Moscow. The roof collapsed due to the heavy fire.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Russian media and Telegram-channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

At first, the Russian Ministry said that the area of the fire was 400 square metres, then said that the fire was localised, but later in the Ministry of Emergency Situations said that according to revised information, the fire is already burning at 800 "squares".

It is noteworthy that the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations does not talk about the fire at the Sukhoi Design Bureau, but reports that "a non-operational building is burning" in the north-west of Moscow.

However, the footage released by the ministry, as well as videos from Russian media and Telegram channels, show that the building of this very enterprise, considered one of the leading aircraft development companies in the aggressor country, is on fire.

"The Sukhoi Design Bureau is on fire in the north-west of Moscow. All the smoke is blown by the wind to the Botkin hospital," writes "Moskach".

A local resident recorded on video a large-scale fire between residential buildings. Open flames, a cloud of smoke can be seen, crackling can be heard. At the same time, no fire engine and firefighters who extinguish the fire are noticeable nearby. It is also noted that the smoke carries on the building of Botkin hospital, and Moscow residents from the surrounding houses feel the smell of burning.

It should be added that this bureau is part of the aviation holding company, JSC "Company "Sukhoi".

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, more than 70 firefighters are trying to extinguish the fire, and 25 units of vehicles are also involved at the site.
