The details of the "emergency" on the small missile ship Serpukhov in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region in April 2024 became known.
As reported during a press conference in Ukrinform by a Russian with the call sign "Goga", in December 2023 he contacted the Freedom of Russia Legion, which is fighting the Putin regime on the side of Ukraine.
"They contacted me and discussed my further actions - what I can give to the Legion, how I can be useful. Any person who applies to the Legion gets some work, no matter what one will do - perform operations, work in the information field, provide intelligence data. It turned out that a diversionary operation suited me. And for a while, I set fire to the room on the ship. I took the secret documents prepared and left the ship, and also left the territory of the Russian Federation," Goga said.
According to him, "it was a joint operation of the Freedom of Russia Legion and the I Want to Live project. "Now I am in Ukraine, I will soon undergo training, I will begin to fight the Putin regime with arms," he said.
Goga also said that he had previously been a serviceman of the Baltic Fleet and had access to the state secret. When the full-scale invasion began, the man tried to convince his colleagues that Russia was wrong. However, then he did not receive support.
Later, Goga tried to resign from the fleet, but they did not allow him to do it. Therefore, he decided to side with Ukraine in the war against the Putin regime.
"This demonstration of resistance indicates that there are many free people in Russia who are ready to demolish the Putin regime. Some of them are fighting in Russian volunteer units, and some are resisting and weakening our common enemy inside the Russian Federation," the Freedom of Russia Legion added.
