Labour Party Winning Elections In Britain

It has been revealed who could become prime minister.

In Britain's early elections to the lower house of parliament, according to exit polls, Labour is winning with a convincing majority of 170 seats. Sir Keir Starmer may become the new prime minister instead of Rishi Sunak.

This is reported by the BBC.

According to exit polls by the BBC, ITV and Sky, it appears the Conservatives will have only 131 MPs in parliament, the smallest number in post-war British history.

The Liberal Democrats are expected to come third with 61 MPs.

The Labour Party will lead with 410 MPs in parliament.

According to exit polls, the Scottish National Party will shrink to 10 MPs, while Reform UK will have 13 MPs.

And the Green Party of England and Wales is likely to double its number of MPs to 2. Plaid Cymru will get 4 MPs. The rest are predicted to get 19 seats.

Liberal Democrat and Conservative Reaction

It should be noted that the Liberal Democrats consider these election results to be the best in a century. Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey voiced this thought when reacting to the exit poll data.

"It looks like we've won more seats than at any general election in the last 100 years," he said and added that there was still a long way to go, but "I'm very proud of our party".

Meanwhile, Conservative Party work and pensions minister Mel Stride told BBC Radio 4 it was a "very difficult moment" for the Conservatives.
