‘They Speak Ukrainian In Everyday Life’: Ukrainian Soldier Tells About Kursk Region Residents

A Ukrainian soldier shared interesting observations.

Ukrainian soldier Serhiy Prutskikh, call sign “Kum”, confirmed that the footage of old ladies speaking Ukrainian was filmed in the Kursk region. He said this on the air of Radio Liberty.

The soldier did not reveal details about his location.

“Wherever we are now, they will still say that we are filming somewhere near Kyiv,” Prutskikh jokes.

He was one of the authors of the video with two residents of the Kursk region who spoke with the Ukrainian military in Ukrainian and asked them for a ride.

“The residents of the Kursk region are quite friendly. At least those whom we met. They communicate, surprisingly for me, exclusively in the Ukrainian language. You saw the video where two old ladies asked if we could give them a ride. We did not have such an opportunity. They said that they spoke Ukrainian in everyday life and it was convenient for them,” the fighter said.

Ukrainian soldiers helped some people, brought water and food.

“They also said that they were abandoned. When the Russian Federation leaves, electricity and gas immediately disappear in some areas. They complain, so to speak,” added Prutskikh.
