Trump’s Team Denies Musk An Office In White House Center
THE WHITE HOUSE

The Times named the reason.

Billionaire Elon Musk wanted to get an office in the center of the White House. Instead, the US presidential administration plans to place his Department of Government Effectiveness in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, that is, away from the Oval Office.

This is reported by The Times.

The corresponding decision was made by the chief of staff of US President Donald Trump Susie Wiles. She denied Musk a permanent office in the West Wing of the White House.

According to the British publication, Wiles made it clear that she does not welcome “people who want to work independently or be a star.”

At the same time, Musk, who was appointed responsible for the newly created Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), had previously looked for his own office close enough to the Oval Office.

Despite this, the senior leadership team of this department will be based in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is located on the White House grounds, but a few minutes' walk from the main complex, The Times writes.

It is also noted that when answering a question from journalists earlier this week about whether Musk would get an office in the West Wing, Trump gave a negative answer.

“No. He is getting an office for about 20 people that we will hire to make sure that these (savings) are realized,” the new US president said.
