Six Oligarchs Fly Dmitry Peskov's Family On Private Jets
An investigative report by journalists.
Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov and his relatives regularly fly with oligarchs or use their private jets. “Proekt” discovered while working on the “Travel Companions” investigation that at least six oligarchs from the Forbes list either flew with the official and his family members or provided them with business jets, writes “Agency”.
The Peskovs’ main traveling companion among the oligarchs turned out to be the president of “Alliance Group,” Musa Bazhaev. The official and his relatives flew with him or on his planes at least 13 times between 2017 and 2023. In January 2021, the Peskov and Bazhaev families vacationed in the Maldives for nearly two weeks, flying there on the oligarch’s Global 6000 with tail number OEIMB. In addition, Bazhaev flew Peskov and his family to the U.S., Italy, France, and Turkey.
Before Bazhaev, the main sponsor of the Peskov family’s trips on business jets was the owner of the “Summa” group of companies Ziyavudin Magomedov. It was on his plane that the official’s family set off on their famous 2015 vacation. As Alexei Navalny established, Peskov spent his vacation in Italy aboard the Maltese Falcon, one of the most expensive sailing yachts in the world. The official himself told RBC at the time that he was vacationing in Sicily but was not renting a yacht. According to tracking data cited by Navalny, on August 11 and 14, the Maltese Falcon was near Capri, and by the morning of August 15, it was already off the coast of Sardinia. According to FBK’s calculations, a week’s rental of the yacht cost about 26 million rubles—roughly what Peskov earned in three years.
Peskov’s family flew from the U.S. with Magomedov in 2016. By the official’s own admission, this was his last visit to the country (not counting a brief trip to the summit in Anchorage in 2025). During that visit, he attended the World Chess Championship match between Sergey Karjakin and Magnus Carlsen. An analysis of leaked border crossing data showed that at least Peskov’s wife, figure skater Tatiana Navka, and her daughter from her first marriage, Sasha Zhulin (as she is listed in the documents), were in the U.S. during those days. On November 13, 2016, they returned to Russia together with Magomedov and UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.
After that, the official and the businessman stopped traveling together: in March 2018, Magomedova was arrested in connection with a case involving the embezzlement of 2.5 billion rubles.
In 2018, Navka flew to Paris on the same plane as Transmashholding co-owner Andrey Bokarev, with the business jet provided by another oligarch, UMMC founder Iskandar Makhmudov. In August 2021, the Peskov family took their last vacation in Europe: Navka, the daughter of press secretary Nadezhda Peskov and the official’s mother-in-law Raisa Navka, returned from Italy to Russia on a plane belonging to the founder of “R-Pharm,” Alexey Repik. A few months later, in December 2021, Nadezhda Peskov flew to the UAE on a plane belonging to the founder of the PhosAgro Group Andrey Guryev, accompanied by the oligarch’s son—also named Andrey Guryev—and his daughter-in-law Valeria Guryeva.
In total, from 2014 to 2023, Peskov and his family made 48 round-trip flights abroad on private jets. Like the families of many other Russian officials, they preferred the U.S. and Western European countries before the invasion of Ukraine began. Since 2022, the Peskovs have flown only to Turkey and Uzbekistan.
In addition to Nurmagomedov, other celebrities have flown on private jets with Peskov and Navka. On at least four occasions, the figure skater’s travel companion was singer Jasmine (real name: Sara Shor), the wife of Moldovan oligarch Ilan Shor. In his home country, Shor was an FSB informant, and in 2019 he fled the country due to a criminal case involving the embezzlement of $1 billion from Moldova’s budget. “Proekt” reported on Shor’s crypto business in Russia in the investigation “The House That Swift Didn’t Build.”
In 2019, Peskov and his family spent the May holidays in the UAE in the company of Philip Kirkorov, a musician from the band “Zemlyane,” Vladimir Kiselev, his son Yuri, known by the pseudonym YurKiss, and his wife Elena. Eleven days later, the official’s mother-in-law and daughter returned to Russia with the Kiselevs, but this time Peskov, Navka, and Kirkorov were not on board the private jet.
