The plane was unable to land in Moscow.

A Belavia flight headed for Moscow had to circle over Russian territory for about an hour on the evening of October 11. This was noted, in particular, by one of the users on Threads.

Flight B2977 from Minsk to Moscow is supposed to take about an hour. However, on the evening of October 11, things did not go according to plan: the plane took off around 8:15 p.m., and about 25 minutes later began circling over the southwestern part of the Tver Region, according to Flightradar data. There, the plane circled eight times, which took about an hour, and eventually landed at Sheremetyevo around 11:00 p.m. On the return flight, the plane arrived in Minsk two hours late.

A Belarusian citizen, who was apparently waiting to depart from Sheremetyevo, drew attention on Threads to the plane’s unusual route and asked “Belavia” whether they should have somehow informed passengers that the flight from Sheremetyevo would be delayed. The airline did not respond to him.

On the evening of October 11, “temporary restrictions within the airspace perimeter” were imposed at Sheremetyevo. In recent days, this has been happening due to Ukrainian drone and balloon attacks.
