Ukraine is the victim; Russia is the aggressor.
U.S. President Donald Trump should put pressure on Russia, not Ukraine. Poland’s Foreign Minister stated this in an interview with Bloomberg.
“We appreciate President Trump’s involvement in efforts to end hostilities between Russia and Ukraine. But in Poland, we believe that putting pressure on the aggressor—not the victim—will yield results,” he noted.
Sikorski also dismissed concerns that the conflict between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Trump could spiral out of control. He noted that these politicians are dealing with “internal political intrigues” and expressed hope that they would resolve their differences.
On October 10, Trump stated that Ukraine needs a new leader. In response, Zelenskyy said that the question of changing the president should be decided by the country’s citizens.
