The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that there is “no justification whatsoever” for this.
The Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny responded to the massive attack by the Russian Federation, which killed at least 19 people, including children. He emphasized that residential buildings are not military targets, but “the homes of ordinary families whom Russia is openly killing.”
“Pryluky, Kremenchuk, Oleksandriya, Dnipro, Kyiv, and other cities across Ukraine… There is no justification for this, and it is certainly not a military victory that Russian officers can be proud of,” Zaluzhny wrote on Telegram on October 7.
He emphasized that the war against cities is “Russian state terrorism, which they are carrying out simply because they can.”
“They can produce missiles and drones, they can refuel their planes, they can finance it,” the ambassador added.
Overnight, Russia launched a combined strike on Ukraine using ballistic missiles, nearly 50 cruise missiles, and 130 drones. Air defense forces destroyed 5 ballistic missiles and 39 cruise missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. Powerful explosions rocked Kyiv. Strikes were reported in several districts: two people were killed in the Darnytskyi district, and an office and warehouse building was destroyed in the Podilskyi district.
