The Ukrainian Armed Forces Launched Counterattacks And Thwarted The Kremlin's Plans On A Key Section Of The Front

The Russian Federation's military offensive failed on several fronts at once.

The occupying army of the aggressor country, Russia, continues its offensive operations on several fronts simultaneously. However, in most areas, there is no confirmed enemy advance.

This was reported by analysts at the U.S. Institute for the Study of War (ISW). At the same time, the Ukrainian military is conducting successful counterattacks in the Donetsk region.

How the Situation on the Front Has Changed

In the Sumy region, the occupying forces continued their attempts at a limited offensive, but there is no confirmation of any successes by the Russian Federation’s army. Ukrainian forces in the Sumy region carried out counterattacks.

In the Kharkiv region, the occupying army attempted to penetrate the Vovchansk area. Russian military bloggers are spreading exaggerated claims about the Russian Federation’s troops advancing in the area where the Vovchansk and Velykoburluk directions converge.

However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian military following a probable attempt to penetrate east of Vovchansk.

North of Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces conducted counterattacks, while enemy troops did not achieve any confirmed advances there.

In the Liman sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are also continuing counterattacks along the eastern bank of the Zherebets River northeast of Liman, while the occupying forces have been unable to consolidate their positions around Liman itself.

In the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk sector, the Russian force is seeking to create conditions for a larger-scale offensive, but the current pace of advance does not allow the Kremlin to achieve this goal.

“Russian troops carried out an operation to penetrate east of Kramatorsk. According to geolocated footage published on October 7, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian position in the western part of Malinovka (east of Kramatorsk) after, according to the ISW’s assessment, a Russian infiltration operation had taken place there,” the analysts added.
