Russia Threw An Expensive PR Stunt For May 9 In Moscow While Skimping On Veterans

The total amount spent on veterans is about the same as the cost of a single missile.

The Russian Federation spent considerable money on the current military parade in Moscow, but the veterans themselves, of whom there are very few left, received only payments of 10 thousand rubles each.

This reports the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

This year, federal payments to direct participants of World War II in the Russian Federation will amount to symbolic 10 thousand rubles.

"Given that there are about 7 thousand people alive in the whole of Russia who fall under this category, "state honor" will cost the budget a modest 70 million rubles. For comparison: this amount is barely enough for one premium segment apartment in Moscow," the report says.

The Kremlin has traditionally delegated possible additional payments to the regions, which must pay something extra, but if funds are available.

It should be noted that assistance to veterans is actually equal to the cost of one X-22 or Iskander cruise missile, with which the aggressor attacks Ukraine almost daily.

According to intelligence reports, tentatively the organization of the annual parade on Red Square costs Russians from 400-600 million rubles in a normal year, and up to 1.5 billion - in the anniversary year.

"Add to this tens of millions for regional celebrations - and it becomes obvious: PR on the victory for Moscow is ten times more expensive than the shares of the winners themselves," summarized the SVR.

For comparison, in Kazakhstan veterans will be paid up to 1 million rubles for the anniversary of the victory, in Uzbekistan - 800-900 thousand, Kyrgyzstan - more than 200 thousand, Belarus - about 136 thousand, Tajikistan - about 60 thousand, Azerbaijan - 21 thousand rubles, respectively.
