Ukraine And Germany To Jointly Produce Drones With A Range Of Up To 1,500 Km

The task is to effectively suppress enemy air defense.

Germany and Ukraine plan to launch joint production of long-range drones. This was announced by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during his visit to Ukraine, Suspilne reported.

He told reporters that Germany and Ukraine plan to expand cooperation in the defense sector. Pistorius shared that Ukrainian and German companies are already working on promising projects. We are talking both about drones with a range of less than 100 kilometers and long-range systems capable of covering a distance of up to 1,500 kilometers.

The German defense minister said that the development of long-range drones is key to deterring Russian attacks on Ukraine's military infrastructure. He noted that in case of mass use, such drones can effectively suppress and destroy enemy air defense systems.

In addition, Pistorius added that Germany is interested in expanding its defense partnership with Ukraine and in using Ukrainian experience in modern warfare. He said that Berlin is studying Ukrainian battle management systems and combat experience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Also, according to Pistorius, Germany plans to join the Ukrainian defense innovation platform Brave1. He emphasized that Berlin will continue to support Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression and develop a strategic partnership.

It became known earlier that the European Commission announced a competition for participation in the creation of a new EU-Ukraine alliance on drones. The founders will be chosen among applicants with experience in the EU-Ukraine defense drone ecosystem. They will form the first board of the alliance.

It is stated that the new EU-Ukraine alliance will support the development of advanced technologies in the field of drones and countermeasures.
