We are talking about "long-range sanctions" in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine.
Ukraine has launched strikes on Russian gas industry facilities in Russia's Orenburg region, which is located more than 1,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky during an evening video message.
The Ukrainian president said that he is talking about "long-range sanctions" in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine.
"In particular, the region of Orenburg: more than 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine, facilities of the Russian gas industry. Ukraine said that we will act in a mirror-like manner in response to Russia," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that the country had previously proposed a ceasefire, but after several days of relative silence, Russia has again launched drone and aerial bomb attacks.
"Unfortunately, after relative silence for three days, again strikes by Shaheds, again aerial bombs. Frontline activity remains high. Therefore, we are responding," the Ukrainian head of state noted.
At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine continues to work with international partners to achieve a diplomatic settlement of the war.
"We continue to work with our partners to push for diplomacy - to push for peace, no matter how difficult it is," the Ukrainian president added.
