It evaluated, among other things, the fortification system.

A U.S. delegation led by Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas DiNanno visited the Polish-Belarusian border, the Podlaskie Voivodeship Office in Bialystok reported.

The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the European Union's external border protection system, which Polish authorities call one of the most secure in the region. The delegation was shown elements of the infrastructure created within the framework of the Eastern Shield program, including barrier structures, surveillance systems and logistics facilities.

General Slawomir Klekotka, commander of the Podlaskie branch of the Border Guard, said during the visit, "The services this year are one hundred percent effective, every attempt to illegally cross the border was stopped."

The delegation also visited facilities in Bialystok, which houses warehouses created as part of the Eastern Shield National Deterrence and Defense Program. The Polish military presented the infrastructure and explained its purpose in case the eastern border needs to be reinforced.

Polish Vice Minister of Defense Cesary Tomczyk emphasized the importance of cooperation with the United States and NATO allies. He said, "The Eastern Shield is recognized by our American allies as part of a larger European initiative and, together with the Baltic Defense Line, is becoming the foundation of security not only for Poland and the EU, but for the whole of NATO. For us, the alliance with the United States is of fundamental importance."

U.S. Representative Thomas DiNanno, for his part, noted the importance of strengthening borders and partnership: "I want to say on behalf of President Trump that it is important to be able to control your borders. We have a common understanding between Poland and the United States. This is a partnership that we should continue in the future."
