Shahed has arrived.
On the night of May 18, Russian troops attacked a Chinese merchant ship in the waters of the Black Sea with an attack drone. This was reported by the speaker of the Navy of the AFU Dmitry Pletenchuk.
According to him, as a result of the incident without casualties, but the very fact of the attack raised questions, given the belonging of the ship to China.
"I wonder what moved the Russians when they decided tonight to "Shahed" oprihodovatel Chinese merchant ship in our sea. There were no casualties, but this is something new. "Has there been a monstrous mistake, comrades?" - Pletenchuk wrote.
Russian forces regularly strike civilian vessels in the Black Sea, including foreign-flagged ships. Ukraine and its Western partners see such actions as part of Moscow's pressure on maritime exports and international shipping.
The current case, however, stands out from previous attacks because it involves a vessel linked to China, one of Russia's key economic and political partners after the outbreak of a full-scale war.
