Lithuania Made A Statement About Bus Service With Belarus

There's no need to worry.

Lithuania has no plans to completely ban regular bus service with Belarus. This was stated by the country's Transport Minister Juras Taminskas, writes lnk.lt.

According to him, the current restrictions already allow to maintain the necessary level of safety.

"We have limited the number of routes with Belarus to 29. This is the currently selected optimal figure to ensure safety," said the Minister.

Taminskas stressed that the authorities are ready to consider more stringent measures, if the situation in Belarus becomes critical.

"Extreme measures are possible if the situation in the country becomes unmanageable," he added.

In Lithuania, the issue of bus service with Belarus is discussed primarily in the context of safety of citizens, who continue to travel to the neighboring country.

As noted by local media, government agencies have repeatedly warned that such trips may be associated with increased risks.
