Riga and Kiev have already responded.
Latvian and Ukrainian authorities have rejected statements by the Russian side about alleged preparations for strikes on Russian territory using Latvian airspace, RBC-Ukraine reported.
The reason was Russian media reports citing the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, which claimed that Ukraine had allegedly received permission from Riga to conduct such operations. The publications also claimed that Ukrainian unmanned systems force units had allegedly arrived in Latvia and that Moscow allegedly had information about "decision-making centers" in the country.
Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Brazhe called the allegations disinformation.
"Russia is lying again. This time it is a disinformation campaign by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service. Latvia does not provide its airspace for attacks on Russia. This has been repeatedly explained to the Russian side," she said.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich also denied Moscow's accusations, emphasizing that the country does not allow its territory or airspace to be used for attacks on other states.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also rejected the Russian side's claims. A spokesman for the ministry, Georgiy Tykhiy, said that such reports had nothing to do with reality.
He said that Ukraine was not using and did not intend to use Latvian territory for operations against Russia.
Kiev believes that such statements are part of a broader information campaign by Moscow aimed at destabilizing public opinion in the Baltic states and trying to sow tension among Ukraine's allies.
