What's going on?
Mobile Internet has been blocked in St. Petersburg for three days already. According to "Paper" calculations, there was no access to the Web for about 40 hours on May 19 and 20. Connectivity appeared on Thursday morning, but then it was cut off again. Downdetector recorded a spike in complaints after 11:00 am. Hundreds of city residents report a general outage, problems with mobile apps and websites. Resources from the "white list" are also loading with difficulty. "The third day is the same, there is no internet, as well as warnings. What have we got this time? And only in St. Petersburg. People can neither study nor work," - said one of the users.
The previous day on the problems with communication complained more than 12 thousand Petersburgers. "Fontanka" wrote on May 20 that the mobile Internet "as yesterday lay down, so did not get up" even after the rebound of the drone danger. The St. Petersburg Committee for Informatization and Communications responded to the angry comments of citizens by saying that they understand and share their "concern," but that these measures are "necessary to ensure safety."
May 21, the governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko announced the threat of drone attacks in the Luzhsky district and warned of "lower mobile Internet speeds." At 13:00 the danger regime was canceled, no UAV destruction was reported. Three drones were shot down over the region on Wednesday morning, and nine drones were shot down over May 19.
