Ukraine Targets Ozon: Drones Set Fire To A Warehouse In The Samara Region

The Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery was also attacked.
On the night of August 22, the Samara Region of Russia was attacked by drones. The strike hit the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery, after which a fire broke out on the refinery’s grounds, according to New Voice.
Videos posted on social media capture the sound of drones flying overhead and explosions. After the strike, flames and thick, dark smoke are visible over the refinery grounds.

As of now, the governor of the Samara Region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev has not officially confirmed that the facility was hit. There is also no information yet on the extent of the damage.
Reports of an attack on Ozon in Samara have also appeared on Russian social media platforms.
The Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery is located in the Samara Region and is part of Rosneft. The facility’s design capacity is approximately 8.8 million metric tons of oil per year.

The plant has already been targeted by drone attacks on multiple occasions. Following previous strikes, the facility temporarily suspended operations.
Recently, other Russian oil refineries have also been targeted, particularly those in Perm and Nizhnekamsk.
