Drone attacks will affect May 9 celebrations.
Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow, clearly demonstrating the failure of Russian air defense systems to protect even the capital. Systems placed on the roofs of high-rise buildings have proved ineffective, and Muscovites are fleeing the city en masse.
Military observer Ivan Tymochko explained "24 Kanal" that Russian propaganda can find thousands of explanations, but where a drone flew over - tomorrow a missile may arrive.
How much will drone attacks affect May 9 celebrations in Russia?
- The May 9 parade will no longer be a triumph - it will be a march of shame and fear. They wanted symbols - they will get them, but the wrong ones. Russians will always remember how on the eve of May 9 pulled air defense in Moscow and still got a mass influx of drones. Moscow airports are now overcrowded: Muscovites are trying to leave the city by any means before the holiday," Tymochko said.
According to the expert, the Russians themselves are to blame for drones flying into their high-rises, because they showed how drones were controlled from elite houses in Moscow City to strike Ukraine. Then they caught on, but the evidence is already on record. So buildings where drone operators, scouts and science and technology centers can operate are legitimate military targets.
After these strikes, the number of foreign politicians willing to come to the parade will be further reduced. Because the air defense systems that have been built around the capital for years have shown some result. At the same time, the economic losses for Moscow are significant. The attacks scare away foreign business and increase domestic distrust among the population.
- If Russians really remembered the victims of totalitarianism, they would not have started this war. But for totalitarian regimes, war is a way of self-survival. Propaganda is already preparing excuses: they will say that it was an air defense test, then they will say that it was a montage, and then they will say that it was not a drone, but a barrel of orange juice that went off and broke a window. But the fact remains, and the consequences of the missile will be much more serious," explained Tymochko.
According to the OSINT-analysis of the Astra publication, the distance from the Kremlin to the house damaged by the drone is about 6 kilometers in a straight line. A similar figure is demonstrated by Google Maps when building a walking route between these points. So, if to take exactly a direct distance, it, probably, and makes about 6 kilometers.
