Volgograd Refinery Halted Production

He was attacked by UAVs.

Lukoil's Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery has halted oil refining since May 29 due to a fire resulting from an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), two industry sources told Reuters.

According to them, the main primary and some secondary units were damaged. In particular, the AVT-1 primary oil refining unit with a capacity of 18,600 tons per day (40% of the refinery's capacity), AVT-6 (32% of the refinery's capacity) and AVT-5 (19%) were stopped. The regional administration, citing Governor Andrei Bocharov, reported on May 29 about a massive UAV attack on the region and fire at fuel and energy complex facilities in the south of Volgograd, but did not specify the names of the enterprises.

Oil products produced by the Volgograd refinery were not offered for sale on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange on June 1.

According to traders' data, in 2024 the Volgograd refinery processed 13.5 million tons of crude oil (about 5% of the total refining volume at Russian refineries), produced 1.9 million tons of motor gasoline, 6.0 million tons of diesel fuel and 0.7 million tons of fuel oil.
