An air raid alert was issued in 28 regions of the Russian Federation.

Last night, the Security Service of Ukraine struck an oil facility in Russia's Yaroslavl region — more than 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

This was reported by Charter97.org citing a post by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Security Service of Ukraine.

An oil facility in the Yaroslavl region, which was important for Russia’s state reserves, has been damaged. This was the specific target chosen by SBU operatives during a nighttime operation.

A separate strike was carried out against the Tula region—the Azot plant in Novomoskovsk was targeted. The plant is involved in the production of explosives.

Scale of the nighttime operation:

air raid alerts were declared in 28 regions of Russia;

air traffic restrictions were imposed at six Russian airports;

strikes were also carried out against the occupiers’ military logistics in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

What Zelenskyy said

“Our soldiers have achieved good results in carrying out long-range strikes on key targets within Russia and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine,” the President of Ukraine stated.

According to him, Ukraine is carrying out its plan for long-range strikes and responding to Russia’s refusal to end the war.

“We offered the Russian leadership every possible format for negotiations, and the response was only a continuation of the aggression and attempts to expand it. It is logical that the war is returning to where it came from. Ukraine needs peace. Glory to Ukraine!” Zelenskyy wrote.

The Security Service of Ukraine added that the “Temp” oil depot is used to store gasoline, diesel, and other materials.

“From here, Russia supplies petroleum products to its northeastern regions and maintains strategic fuel reserves for the army’s needs,” the statement said.

After the UAVs struck the oil depot, a major fire broke out; at least three large fire zones were reported in the tank farm. There are 60 storage tanks located there.
