The Russian occupiers struck twice.
On the night of June 15, Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on Kyiv attacked the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
In particular, Russia launched a double strike against the ancient historical and architectural monument—the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra—and a fire broke out in the Assumption Cathedral. The cathedral’s vicar, Bishop Avraamy, later reported that after the attack, liturgical objects, ancient icons, and other sacred objects—and that they managed to preserve the relics and minimize the danger to people.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius, called the Russian strike on the cathedral a crime against humanity, history, and Christianity.
