This will be "in a whole different league" when it comes to striking at Russia.
Ukraine is developing its own ballistic missile that will be capable of striking targets on Russian territory. This will radically change Ukraine’s status in the world.
This was reported by Charter97.org, citing an interview with Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on the TSN.
What Fedorov said
The minister confirmed: a Ukrainian ballistic missile will be developed and will strike Russia. He did not disclose any details.
“Ukrainian ballistic missiles will change everything in this war. They will fundamentally change Ukraine’s status in the world. We’ve changed it many times before, but this is in a whole different league,” he said.
Fedorov explained why he isn’t saying more: he doesn’t want to raise expectations too high, and he doesn’t want to give the enemy any clues.
Instead, he referred to the President of Ukraine.
“All I can do here is quote our president, who said that Ukraine will have ballistic missiles, and they will strike Russia,” the minister said.
Fedorov’s statement came amid actual developments. The Ukrainian company Fire Point has fully completed work on the FP-7.x anti-ballistic missile—it has already passed testing. Earlier, the company’s founder, Stillerman, stated that the Ukrainian FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles would be comparable to the American ATACMS, but half the price.
Indigenous developments are particularly important given the shortage of foreign missiles. The Air Force has reported a critical shortage of ammunition for the Patriot, NASAMS, and IRIS-T systems; in some units, ammunition stocks are nearly depleted, and Air Force representatives have to beg for 5–10 missiles at a time.
