"We Are Reaching The Plateau Of Opportunities": The Expert Revealed The Effect Of The New Tactics Of The AFU

Ukrainian drones take control of land corridor to Crimea.
There is a shortage of fuel in Crimea, and limits have been introduced at gas stations. Things are also bad in other occupied territories, particularly in Mariupol, where the price of gasoline has jumped very high. Western experts suggest that 50 to 55 percent of Russia's oil refining capacity is idle, so the aggressor country is experiencing difficulties.
The executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation Dmitri Zhmaylo told "Channel 24" that further strikes by the AFU on Russia will determine the dynamics of whether this crisis will deepen. Right now, many Ukrainian partners do not like the idea of systematic strikes that aim to take down the Russian oil complex.
Destabilization in the WOT will intensify
This fuel situation contributes to social tensions, which is especially important for destabilizing Russian-occupied territories. The executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation recalled that when fuel crises occurred last year, but on a smaller scale, Russian fighters in queues at gas stations rushed at civilians and simply took away their gasoline. As a consequence, clashes broke out.
Zhmaylo explained that the more instability in the occupied territories, the more Russia has to keep an occupation contingent there to keep order, which means these fighters will not go directly into the war zone to reinforce Russian troops and put pressure on the JNA.
Logistics in the crosshairs: the occupiers are looking for new routes
The executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation spoke about the conspiracy theory that, they say, Ukraine has used a large number of its long-range drones and will not be able to maintain the given pace of strikes in the future. However, as Zhmaylo noted, there is no confirmation of this.
- I recently communicated on the Zaporizhzhya direction with fighters of the Unmanned Systems Force and other units of the SOU, then they said that this work continues, "diplstrikes" and "midstrikes" are launched in real time. This is a constant pressure on Russian air defense. Therefore, the military has no shortage of long-range defeat means so far," Zhmaylo assured.
Ukraine further seeks to interrupt the enemy's logistics. The Crimean bridge is not fully utilized by Russia after previous SBU operations. Restrictions are in place there because the Russians are in anticipation of new strikes. Additional difficulties are caused by the fact that today the Taganrog-Dzhankoy highway is actually shot through by Ukrainian forces. In addition, the occupation authorities have imposed restrictions on the movement of civilians near Genichesk (Kherson region).
- We are reaching a plateau of opportunities. Ukraine is gradually trying to seize the tactical initiative. This has led to the fact that the big summer offensive announced by the Russians, which was supposed to start at the end of May, has not fully started. Of course, there is painful pressure in the Pokrovsky, Konstantinovsky, Slavyansko-Kramatorsky directions, but there are no significant territorial shifts," Zhmaylo stated.
According to him, Russia is now in a weak position. Therefore, Ukraine's call to world leaders today is clear - while the aggressor country is the most weakened since the beginning of 2022, it is necessary to finish it on the international, diplomatic fronts.
Paralyze the enemy's logistics 100% will not be possible
Ukrainian drones are attacking the road Donetsk - Mariupol - Crimea, because of this the Russians are looking for an alternative, changing logistics. It is completely impossible for the enemy to stop it, because there are bypass routes. Zhmaylo recalled that the Russians have been preparing to build parallel railroad logistics since 2022, envisioned several years ago one hundred and fifty railroad tracks and upgraded the existing railroad bed.
- This does not mean that Ukrainian drones will not get there. The Russians will only buy time while we reorient our targets, which will require additional training. Although the main routes and railroads have long been identified by the Defense Forces," Zhmaylo stressed.
To sum up, the executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation noted that although it will not be possible to paralyze the enemy's logistics completely, but to complicate these processes as much as possible, to prevent the Russians from advancing on the front and continuously attacking, is quite possible for the JMA.
