A fire started.
On June 3, an explosion occurred at a weapons production facility in Tula, resulting in a fire and loss of life. This was reported by a number of local blogs, in particular the Russian edition of Astra.
Telegram channel "News Tula and Region" with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Affairs reported that it was a fire in a production building on Lenin Avenue. The area of the fire is 250 m².
It is known about at least three dead.
Local media outlet Myslo specified that a column of thick smoke could be seen from different parts of the city. According to eyewitnesses, a strong "pop" was heard during the fire - so powerful that the roof was partially torn off the building. Later, the fire spread to the storage rooms where, presumably, pneumatic cartridges were stored. Eyewitnesses reported crackling and hissing inside the building.
Because of the threat to the lives of rescuers, fire extinguishing was temporarily suspended, EMERCOM employees were evacuated to a safe zone. However, according to the latest reports, after the extinguishing was stopped, the fire intensified again.
According to Myslo, there is a production of weapons, ammunition and self-defense equipment "A+A".
Astra published a video from local residents.
