Iran Has Drawn Up A Four-step Plan For A Deal With The U.S.

It hasn't been sent to Washington yet.

Iran's leadership has drawn up a four-stage plan to reach an agreement with the United States. This was reported by Fars with reference to a member of Tehran's negotiating delegation Said Ajarlu. According to the agency's interlocutor, the plan has not yet been sent to Washington.

The first point of the plan calls for a complete cessation of hostilities. "This issue should cover all sides and all fronts: both Iran and the US, as well as the resistance front," the agency quoted Mr. Ajarlu as saying.

In the second stage, Iran proposes to resolve four issues: the issue of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, lifting the blockade on Iranian ports, lifting oil sanctions, and releasing some of Iran's frozen assets. In the third stage, the negotiating groups will be able to discuss sanctions and the nuclear program. In the last stage, the countries will set up a committee that will oversee that both sides fulfill their obligations under the agreement.

"The members of this committee have not yet been approved, but Iran wants friendly and allied countries to be present in this mechanism so that the process of implementing the agreement will have the necessary support," Saeed Ajarlu noted.

A truce has been in place between Iran and the US since early April, during which time the sides are expected to agree on a final peace agreement. However, as Tasnim news agency reported, Tehran halted the negotiation process with Washington after Israel resumed strikes on Lebanon. On the same day, the American president promised that Israel would not send troops to Beirut and said it would continue talks with Iran.
