Elon Musk Is Aiming For A Trillion.

His competitors were left far behind.

The fortune of SpaceX and Tesla founder Ilon Musk has approached the $970 billion mark. The expected listing of SpaceX shares on the stock exchange could make him the first trillionaire on the planet.

This is reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The speed of the businessman's enrichment is hard to imagine: over his 31-year career, Elon Musk has roughly received $992 every second. That means that in one minute his account grows by almost 60,000 dollars. Every hour brings him 3.6 million, and for a day the amount reaches 85.7 million dollars.

If you calculate the income for a year, the amount will amount to 31.3 billion dollars. The average American family would have to work more than 11 million years to amass such a capital. Not to retire rich, but just to accumulate the amount that one person owns.

What Musk's empire consists of

The majority of the businessman's money is not cash in the safe, but numbers on the screens of stock exchanges. Almost all of his capital is locked up in stocks. The bulk of the fortune is formed by a stake in SpaceX. It is estimated at 538 billion dollars even before the company went public.

Tesla adds another 167 billion to his capital. Musk also owns $150 billion in options that he can exercise at any time.

His competitors are left far behind:

Jeff Bezos owns $276 billion;

Larry Ellison has $243 billion;

Mark Zuckerberg manages $219 billion.

In addition to his core assets, Musk owns $104 billion worth of real estate and airplanes. His companies The Boring Company and Neuralink add another 5 billion each.

Compared to the economies of entire countries

Ilon Musk's capital exceeds the annual GDP of 125 countries. He is richer than Norway, Thailand, Argentina or his native South Africa. The businessman's fortune is equal to about 3% of the entire U.S. economy.

Even the legendary John Rockefeller at the peak of his power owned only 1.5% of the country's GDP.

For $970 billion, one could buy:

all 32 NFL teams;

every NBA team;

a fleet of 10,000 private Gulfstream G700 airplanes;

FedEx, Starbucks and Target along with millions of their employees.

Even after those purchases, Musk would still have more than $500 billion left.

Expert Ingrid Robains estimates that if Musk worked 70 hours a week without vacations until he was 75, he would earn about $4.2 million an hour over the course of his career.
