In the Crimean and Slavyansk districts of Russia's Krasnodar region, local residents are being evacuated due to the bursting of dams. This was reported by Dialog.UA after analyzing Russian media and social networks.

At the moment it is known that because of the dam bursting in the Slavyansk district of Krasnodar Krai introduced a state of emergency and began evacuation of residents. In the Krymsky district residents were evacuated in advance, when the threat was announced.

The Krasnodar region's operational headquarters says that "there were minor dam breaks near the settlements of Zapadny in the Krymsky district and Sobolevsky in the Slavyansky district."

In the Krymsky district 39 people were evacuated to temporary accommodation, and in the Slavyansky district 17 people were evacuated. The removal of residents to safe areas continues, although the Krasnodar Region authorities say the overflow of the dams "is not increasing."

According to the information of the Krasnodar Region Operstab, 494 people and 25 units of special equipment have been involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the emergency.

The works on strengthening of dams are underway - about 30 000 sandbags have already been laid.

The Governor of Krasnodar region Veniamin Kondratiev is not at the site of the emergency. He has left for St. Petersburg for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to "find new partners and strengthen existing cooperation."
