The AFU Took Donetsk Airport Under Fire Control

The 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Force of the AFU said it has taken Donetsk airport under fire control. The Ukrainian military says this is the first operation of this type in modern history.

The 1st Separate Center of the AFU's Unmanned Systems Force said in its Telegram channel.

The military noted that the Russians have turned the DAP into a military logistical hub and a key launching ground for Shahed attack UAVs. The unit says it is systematically burning out the Russian army's infrastructure, making it impossible for the airfield to function.

"Our strike drone operators destroy launchers, transport vehicles, and eliminate calculations directly on the runway. In parallel, we conduct a systematic hunt for the enemy's mobile fire groups and air defense, which forces the enemy to cancel sorties," the unit said.

1st Separate Bps Center noted that by hitting engineering equipment, fuel refuelers and logistics hubs, the military is completely degrading the airfield ecosystem.

"The result of our work is the elimination of shahedin installations, the destruction of construction cranes, enemy vehicle equipment and property warehouses," the military added.

The person in charge of planning the operation, Seraphim (Falko) Gordienko, emphasized that the fire control of the DAP, which was carried out by the 1st Bps Center, is an example of an asymmetric operation in which the operational and strategic plans of the Russian Army were thwarted by exceptionally small forces.
