Portugal and Saudi Arabia's Al-Nasr striker Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the ranking of the highest-paid World Cup players according to Sportico.

The 41-year-old Portuguese earned $295 million before taxes and agency fees over the past 12 months. Of that, he received $230 million under his contract with Al-Nasr, and another $65 million from advertising partners.

Forward of North American Inter Miami and the Argentine national team Lionel Messi ranks second ($140 million). The 38-year-old Argentine earns equally on the field and off it - $70 million each.

The top three is rounded out by 27-year-old Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappe ($100 million, of which $70 million - salary and $30 million - advertising).

The rest of the list is as follows:

Erling Holand (Manchester City and the Norwegian national team) - $80 million ($60 million + $20 million);

Vinicius Júnior (Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team) - $60 million ($40 million + $20 million);

Mohamed Salah ("Liverpool" and the national team of Egypt) - $55 million ($35 million + $20 million);

Sadio Mane ("Al-Nasr" and the national team of Senegal) - $54 million ($50 million + $4 million);

Riyad Marez (Al-Ahli and the Algerian national team) - $53 million ($52 million + $1 million);

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid and the English national team) - $44 million ($29 million + $15 million);

Lamin Yamal ("Barcelona" and the Spanish national team) - $43 million ($33 million + $10 million);

Harry Kane ("Bayern" and the English national team) with income of $42 million ($30 million + $12 million).

According to Bloomberg, Ronaldo's fortune is estimated at $1.4 billion, making him the richest soccer player in history. He has also topped Sportico's annual list of the world's highest-paid athletes for three consecutive years.

Ronaldo will play in his sixth World Cup. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
