An Unknown Drone Flew Into Moldova At Night And Exploded

The drone crossed the country's border during Russia's massive attack on Ukraine.

According to the report, on June 8, 2026, at 00:20, the surveillance systems of the national army and the cross-border cooperation system recorded the crossing of the state border of Moldova by a drone in the area of Mihailovca-Lopatna settlements.

The wreckage of the drone was found on agricultural land near Lopatna settlement. Traces recorded at the scene indicate that there was an explosion earlier.

"The discovered wreckage is being investigated in order to establish the origin of the aircraft and the circumstances of the incident. It should be noted that this night there was a massive Russian attack on Ukraine using drones and missiles," the Moldovan ministry said.

The responsible authorities continue to document the case and monitor the situation, the ministry stressed.
