Zelensky Convened A Special Meeting With Corps Commanders And Weapons Manufacturers

Ukraine is preparing for possible challenges from Russia as early as this fall.
At a special meeting of the General Staff, corps commanders outlined the front’s needs to weapons manufacturers and government representatives, as well as issues related to supply and product quality.
This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a post by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
According to the president, this was the first time such a direct dialogue had taken place between corps commanders, Ukrainian manufacturers of weapons and military equipment, and representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, and relevant intelligence agencies.
The meeting was attended by the commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commanders of the 10th, 11th, and 19th Army Corps, as well as representatives of “Charter,” “Azov,” and enterprises of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex.
The participants focused primarily on practical issues. In particular, they discussed the provision of supplies to the troops, delays in resupply, procurement problems, the need for additional funding, and the conclusion of contracts. They also discussed the production and supply of various types of drones, ground-based robotic systems, long-range artillery munitions, and other weapons needed in the hottest sectors of the front.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a permanent framework for cooperation between corps commanders, weapons manufacturers, and government agencies. The Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council will coordinate this work.
Separately, the High Command discussed instances of defects identified in military equipment during its use in combat conditions. Zelenskyy emphasized that manufacturers must respond promptly to such feedback and address the shortcomings.
The President also announced that he will hold similar meetings with other corps commanders as early as tomorrow to gather feedback from across the entire Defense Forces system.
In addition, according to Zelenskyy, based on the results of these discussions, certain elements of the defense strategy will be adjusted and priority tasks for the production and supply of weapons will be identified. Special attention was given to issues of air defense and the tasks facing Ukrainian diplomacy.
The President emphasized that Ukraine must enter August as prepared as possible and ready for various scenarios of how events may unfold in the fall.
