Belarusians Have Started Receiving "chain Letters" From The Tax Authorities

We're talking about fees for transportation, real estate, and land.

Belarusians have begun receiving property tax bills for 2025. These include taxes on vehicles, real estate, and land. Among the first to receive these notices were those who had registered a personal account on the tax agency’s website, according to “Zerkalo”.

Property tax bills have begun appearing in Belarusians’ personal accounts on the Ministry of Taxes and Levies website. As a reminder, starting January 1, 2024, fees for real estate, land, and vehicles will be billed on a single payment notice.

As a reminder, starting January 1, 2026, rates for many taxes were raised. This includes the tax on a first apartment. This is provided for by amendments to the Tax Code.

What are the consequences of not paying the levies

Notices for the payment of property levies must be sent no later than October 1—by mail or through the personal account on the Ministry of Taxation website (for those who have given their consent). Payments must be made by November 16, inclusive. “Individuals have the right to pay taxes in installments and ahead of schedule,” tax officials explained earlier.
