F-16 Vs. Su-35: The Ukrainian Armed Forces Showed How They Shot Down Russia's Latest Fighter Jet

The pilot-occupant was trapped.

On July 8, one of the Ukrainian pilots on the Eastern Front of the front shot down a Russian Su-35 fighter jet while flying an F-16. The Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted a video of the incident on its Facebook account.

The downed Russian fighter jet crashed in the area of responsibility of the Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The dogfight involving Ukrainian F-16s and a Russian Su-35 took place on July 8. It occurred on the eastern sector of the front line, but the Ukrainian Air Force command and the Third Army Corps did not specify the exact location.

Russian military Z-propagandists have acknowledged the loss of a Su-35. They claim that Ukrainian defenders lured the Russian fighter jet into a trap, writes "Dialog".

Z-propagandists believe that one Ukrainian aircraft simulated dropping KABs on the positions of the Russian occupiers, while two others provided cover. A Russian Su-35 attempted to intercept the Ukrainian aircraft simulating the dropping of KABs, but a Ukrainian surface-to-air missile system suddenly fired missiles at it. As a result, the Su-35 was shot down and crashed to the ground.

Pro-Russian bloggers claim that the Russian pilot allegedly survived. Ukrainian military experts say that the Russian Su-35 fighter was actually shot down by the pilot of a Ukrainian F-16. It is believed that the Russian aircraft was hit by an AMRAAM missile, not a Patriot anti-aircraft missile.
