A Secret Plane Was Spotted At The Minsk Airport

The luxury cabin is designed to accommodate only 25 passengers.

The new airline will operate flights to Minsk National Airport. This information came to light almost by accident—thanks to a photo posted on the Telegram channel MSQ.SPOTTER.

The photo shows a McDonnell Douglas MD-87 aircraft, whose cabin configuration is designed to accommodate 25 passengers.

“This is no longer just regular business class, but true luxury. The seats recline into full-size sleeping berths, and there’s a separate meeting area and private space,” the channel reported.

They noted that VIP configurations on the MD-87 are extremely rare, and especially so in our region.

Where is this plane flying to?

Aviation enthusiasts managed to trace the history of the aircraft pictured in the photo. It’s quite an interesting story.

It was manufactured in 1992 and was previously operated by Japan Airlines, then used in business aviation. However, in 2025, it was acquired by Atlas Air, a company based in Iran. The carrier has been in operation since 2011, but it has only recently begun actively developing its VIP and charter services.

Tickets for the Tehran–Minsk round-trip route are already available for purchase on the carrier’s website. A one-way ticket costs approximately 180 million tomans (about Br3,900), while a round-trip ticket costs 400 million tomans (nearly Br8,000).

Flights are scheduled for every Sunday, with the first flight set for August 16. However, the MD-87 is not yet listed in the Minsk airport schedule.
