Discussions are underway regarding investments and the participation of U.S. businesses in the country's reconstruction.

Former U.S. Presidential Special Representative Keith Kellogg arrived in Ukraine on Friday, August 21, on the eve of Independence Day. He has already visited the Odessa Commercial Seaport.

This was reported by Charter97.org, citing Telegram channel of Ukraine’s Ministry of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport.

First Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach visited the Odesa Seaport together with a U.S. delegation led by Kellogg.

The delegation inspected the damage caused by Russian attacks on the port’s infrastructure. During the meeting, they discussed maritime safety, the operation of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor, and the resilience of export logistics.

“It is important to us that our American partners can see firsthand the conditions under which Ukrainian ports operate. Despite systematic Russian attacks, we continue to ensure the operation of the maritime corridor. Our task is to work with our partners to strengthen port security, maintain safe shipping, and ensure the resilience of Ukraine’s logistics,” Derkach noted.

A separate segment of the meeting focused on investments and the participation of American businesses in Ukraine’s recovery.

The discussion focused on specific public-private partnership projects in ports, road and rail infrastructure, as well as opportunities for the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund to attract investment in transportation and logistics.
