A unique discovery in the National Park.
A unique moss, previously thought to be extinct, has been discovered in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, according to the National Park.
During field research, scientist Alexey Astrelin discovered a unique relict moss—Antitrichia curtipendula. Significantly, this is effectively the first confirmed record of the species in the history of modern-day Belarus.

It is reported that this extremely rare moss has colonized a fallen oak trunk that “came down” at least 20 years ago. It was here that the conditions for its survival emerged.
