The dictator of the Russian Federation made a cynical statement.

Vladimir Putin, in an interview with propagandist Pavel Zarubin, called the strikes on civilian infrastructure in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities “effective” and “timely,” emphasizing that they help the Russian military accomplish its combat objectives. “Of course, these strikes are effective. They are timely. And, without a doubt, this helps our soldiers, our boys, our heroes on the front lines accomplish the combat missions before them,” Putin said.

According to him, such strikes “disrupt the Ukrainian military’s ability to deliver” equipment and ammunition to the front lines, hinder the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, and “impede the ability of defense industry enterprises to improve weapons,” which, as Putin noted, are being modernized “with the direct participation of Western sponsors.” At the same time, he complained about Ukraine’s retaliatory strikes on Russian territory, acknowledging that they “cause economic damage.” However, he immediately added that “the end result for the enemy turned out to be the exact opposite of expectations” and “no turning point has occurred”.

“No turning point in the confrontation with Russia could have occurred, and none did. The Kyiv regime and its masters cannot gain any advantage, have not gained one, and never will,” he said.

According to Putin, the retaliatory strikes against Russia constituted an “obvious escalation” based not on “an analysis of the situation on the battlefield” or “the state of the Ukrainian economy, society, and state, which is being eaten away by corruption,” but on “public relations and ambitions.” “The Kyiv regime has set itself the goal of damaging our economy. What has it done? It opened this Pandora’s box all on its own. Well then, you’ll get a response targeting your most vulnerable economic sectors, which, to be honest, are already on their last legs. This, by the way, also applies to agricultural production, from the export of which the Kyiv regime derives its main revenue,” Putin said.
