Media Reports: Saboteurs Set Fire To A Huge Warehouse Near St. Petersburg

The area affected by the fire reached tens of thousands of square meters.

Another major fire has been reported at a key logistics facility in Russia. This time, the fire engulfed a large warehouse complex in the Pushkinsky District of St. Petersburg—the area affected by the blaze reached tens of thousands of square meters.

This area is home to companies in the heavy machinery, metallurgy, and metalworking industries, as well as manufacturers of equipment for the energy and nuclear sectors.

In light of the incident, speculation has arisen about a possible act of sabotage carried out by a partisan movement operating directly on Russian territory. This was reported by the Telegram channel Ukraine_365, which links the destruction of the facility specifically to underground activities.

It is noteworthy that this time, no reports of an attack by Ukrainian drones have emerged. It is precisely this circumstance that draws additional attention to the theory of an internal sabotage operation—after all, usually when it comes to strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on targets in Russia, reports of UAV attacks appear almost immediately. For example, just the day before drones attacked the Ozon logistics center in the Samara Region, and news of this spread almost immediately after the fire broke out.

As for the fire near St. Petersburg, there is no confirmed information at the time of publication regarding a strike by Ukrainian missiles or drones directly on the warehouse. The absence of reports of an airstrike, of course, is not in itself direct evidence of the partisans’ involvement. However, when combined with the Telegram channel’s statement about underground activities, this version seems quite plausible.

The fire turned out to be extensive: the flames spread rapidly across the warehouse complex. To contain the fire, Russian emergency services had to deploy about 200 firefighters and dozens of pieces of equipment. Despite the resources mobilized, the flames managed to engulf a significant portion of the facility.

Russian authorities have not yet reported on the causes and circumstances that led to such a large-scale fire.
