The Main Intelligence Directorate Carried Out A Unique Operation In Crimea

The "Magury" also pose a threat to Russian occupiers on land.

Group 13, a special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, carried out a successful operation in the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, in late July 2026, the control unit of the “Podlet” radar complex and the “friend-or-foe” identification system—the “Parol-4” radar interrogator—were put out of commission.

To carry out the combat mission, Ukrainian troops deployed the latest Magura naval platforms, equipped with FPV drones, which enabled them to deliver precision strikes against ground targets of the Russian army.

The unit commander, with the call sign “Thirteen,” commented on the success of the operation: “From now on, our ‘Maguras’ pose a threat to the Russian occupiers on land as well. This marks a fundamental shift in the conflict to a new plane. Overall, our operations during the war against the Russian aggressor confirm that the invaders in Crimea will have no place—neither in the waters, nor in the skies over the Black Sea, nor on Crimean soil. Crimea is Ukraine.”

Group 13’s combat record includes nine destroyed and five damaged ships of the Russian Federation’s Black Sea Fleet, three downed Russian helicopters and two fighter jets, and one additional helicopter that sustained damage.
