An attack on Belgorod.
On the night of Monday, August 3, a fire broke out at Belgorod State Technological University (V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University) in Belgorod following a drone attack.
This was reported by the Russian publication Astra, citing local Telegram channels.
It is noted that drones were being developed and tested at this university. Specifically, BSTU was designing an automated UAV control system based on the Milandr microprocessor. At the same time, the university claimed that the development was intended for civilian use and could be used to monitor power lines and heating mains, as well as for aerial photography.

In the summer of 2026, the university announced that it was recruiting high school students for summer sessions in a course on drone development, according to Astra.
Russian authorities have not yet reported on the consequences of the attack. Meanwhile, throughout the night, the Belgorod Region’s emergency response headquarters issued several warnings about the threat of drone attacks.
On the night of July 25, the Russian city of Belgorod came under a massive drone attack. Fires broke out in the city at logistics warehouses and energy infrastructure facilities.
