The U.S. president called for prices to be lowered “immediately.”
U.S. President Donald Trump has demanded that Chevron and other oil companies lower retail fuel prices. He posted a statement to that effect on the social media platform Truth Social, commenting on an interview Chevron CEO Mike Wirth gave to Fox News.
“The only thing he conveniently forgot to mention is that without the genius, foresight, strength, and stability of the TRUMP administration, the oil industry and our country would be DEAD!” Trump wrote.
The U.S. leader noted that Chevron has returned to Venezuela, from where it was “kicked out,” and that the company is now “much bigger and stronger than ever before and expects to make a fortune.” The same applies to other oil companies, he added.
“Lower oil prices for consumers (retail prices!) right now!” Trump demanded.
