Poland Intercepted A Russian Reconnaissance Aircraft

For the second time this week.

Polish fighter jets intercepted yet another Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft. This was reported by the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on social media platform X.

According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, the incident occurred on the morning of August 4.

A pair of Polish aircraft intercepted a Russian aircraft 56 km northwest of Koszalin, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

“Russia is once again engaging in provocative actions near NATO’s borders, testing the vigilance and readiness of the Alliance’s defense systems,” added the Polish defense minister.

This is already the second such incident in two days, as Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea the day before.
