Russia struck a ship carrying Ukrainian grain.

On August 6, the Russian Armed Forces attacked a civilian vessel in the Black Sea.

The head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Oleg Kipper reported that a Guinea-Bissau-flagged dry cargo ship carrying Ukrainian wheat was struck—one person was killed and three were injured.

Following the attack, the vessel sustained hull damage, and a fire broke out on board. The crew was evacuated to shore, and the injured are receiving the necessary medical care. The extent of the damage to the vessel is being assessed.

The regional military administration emphasized that Russian forces continue to systematically attack civilian vessels in the Black Sea. Such strikes not only threaten the lives of sailors and crew members but also pose additional risks to global food security.
