In July, it was reported that a Belarusian woman had been freed from an online fraud operation in Myanmar. It has now been confirmed that she has returned home.
This was announced on August 6 by the Belarusian Embassy in Vietnam, which also covers Myanmar.
It is reported that the Belarusian woman was transported from Myanmar via Thailand.
“The situation in the region under the embassy’s jurisdiction, including in Myanmar, remains challenging. To avoid situations that threaten health and life, we recommend acting responsibly and exercising caution when considering offers of ‘easy money’ and employment,” the embassy noted.
Earlier, media outlets reported on a 26-year-old woman from Minsk Vera Kravtsova, who traveled to Thailand in search of work as a model and, according to Telegram channels, ended up in a scam operation, after which she was taken to Myanmar and killed.
