Belarusians had to postpone their “mushroom hunt.”

A resident of the Mogilev District kat_stavirskaya described an unexpected encounter with wild boars that had wandered into a field near residential homes.

“We went out to pick mushrooms, but ended up on a safari,” she writes. “The forest’s inhabitants came right up to the car and didn’t seem the least bit afraid of us. It looks like the mushroom hunt is officially postponed!”

Belarusians noted that wild boars are increasingly coming out of the forest toward people's homes. The website Charter97.org provides some comments:

- My girlfriend and I went into an empty forest about three weeks ago, trudging sadly deeper into it. Oh, the undergrowth was torn up by a snout... Oh, a pile of wild boar droppings... And then a young boar took off running! Ira, there are no mushrooms—let’s go home. And how we ran—oh, how we ran.

- Three sows with four piglets. Yeah... It wasn’t a pleasant sight. Very dangerous. Sure, it’s interesting to film these little oinking animals like that. But it’s scary.

- When I was a kid, I came across one like that, only its tusks were about 10 centimeters long. I ran one way, and it ran the other. Then it turned out that on my side there was a wall of bushes taller than I was… I hadn’t noticed them at all. We had a good time picking mushrooms.
