Reuters: Zelenskyy And The CIA Director Met In Ireland

The President of Ukraine and John Ratcliffe spoke in an informal setting.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Ratcliffe in Ireland, Reuters reported on Monday, September 21, Reuters reported, citing two sources. According to one of them, the meeting took place earlier that day at Shannon Airport.

Zelenskyy and Ratcliffe spoke in an informal setting while their planes were being refueled, the other source added. It is unclear what they discussed. Neither the CIA nor Ukrainian authorities officially reported the meeting.

On August 25, the CIA director arrived in Moscow on an unannounced visit. According to The Wall Street Journal, U.S. President Donald Trump personally instructed Ratcliffe to travel to the Russian capital without informing his aides or military commanders of the mission. Ratcliffe discussed in Moscow the resumption of negotiations with Ukraine to end the war and called on the Kremlin to stop supporting Iran, WSJ sources reported.
