Ukrainian Defense Forces Killed The Commander Of A Russian Artillery Regiment

In 2014, he betrayed Ukraine.

In the Kherson region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated the commander of the Russian Armed Forces’ 8th Artillery Regiment Alexander Isaev, who defected to Russia in 2014. The soldier was struck by an FPV drone.

Isaev commanded the 8th Artillery Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces (military unit No. 7714), which operated in the coastal tactical sector as part of the Russian Army’s Dnipro task force.

According to the project, Isaev was born in Mykolaiv and had served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 1992. In 2014, while serving as chief of staff—first deputy commander—of the 406th Separate Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy’s Coastal Artillery Group, he defected to the Russian Federation.

He was subsequently appointed Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment of the 22nd Army Corps of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

In 2015, Isaev was discharged to the reserves, but in October 2022, he returned to active duty and took part in the war against Ukraine. In September 2024, he took command of the 8th Artillery Regiment and was promoted to the rank of colonel.
