Zelenskyy Outlined Three Points That The U.S. Is Insisting On In The Peace Talks

Kyiv is open to suggestions.

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is insisting on three urgent steps as part of efforts to de-escalate Russia’s war against Ukraine and resume diplomatic relations with Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about this in an interview with Axios.

According to Zelenskyy, the proposal involves:


a ceasefire regarding energy infrastructure;
the resumption of the “grain corridor” in the Black Sea;

a trilateral meeting between the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia, presumably in Abu Dhabi.

The President of Ukraine noted that the proposal for a joint cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure came from the U.S., and Ukraine is ready to agree to it.

“The proposal is now on the agenda: an energy ceasefire. We’re ready,” Zelenskyy said.

He also added that the U.S. is seeking to reopen the “grain corridor” and hold a trilateral meeting.

The U.S. has proposed holding a meeting of technical teams first, rather than a summit between leaders. They proposed Abu Dhabi as a possible venue.

“We are open to suggestions—any country, any format,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
